Albert Eugene Freeman, 83, of Tellico Plains went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Essie McKenzie Freeman; brother, Buford Freeman; sister, Alma "Aileen" Lee.
He attended Rural Vale Baptist Church. Eugene served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1996 from the maintenance department of Monroe County School System. He loved his family and took the time to notice and appreciate the smallest of God's creatures. It gave him great pleasure taking care of his farm and lawn.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years,Ermazo Freeman of Tellico Plains; sons and daughters-in-law,Ricky and Brenda Freeman of Tellico Plains, Roger and Traci Freeman of Tellico Plains andBryan and Melissa Freeman of Athens; brother,Kenneth Freeman; sisters,Judy Dixon andShirley Woods;3 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 3 great step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carroll Hamilton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 6 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Rural Vale Baptist Cemetery for the 11:30 a.m. committal service. Ricky Freeman, Roger Freeman, Bryan Freeman, Alix Freeman, Jeremy Sherlin, Tony Bishop and Jacob Davis will serve as pallbearers. Donations can be made to Rural Vale Baptist Cemetery Fund, 744 Dry Creek Road, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
