Arlee "Pop" Evans

Arlee "Pop" Evans, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the age of 99 ½. He was a resident of the Arbor House assisted living home in Marble Falls, TX at the time of his passing and had been serving his Lord in the First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals, TX. Arlee was a former long time resident of Ontario, CA, where he was a member of Allen Ave Baptist Church and was responsible in part for the planting of three other churches in the area. He was also a former resident long time of Tellico Plains and member of the First Baptist Church of Tellico Plains. Throughout his life he served the Lord faithfully and served as a deacon in all the churches he was associated with. He was a carpenter by trade and the owner of Pop's Restaurant while living in Tellico Plains. "Pop" was a loving husband and a wonderful father to his children and he will be greatly missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife of many years, Eva Thomas Evans; 2nd wife, Christine Kniff Evans; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Evans Reeder and Dennis, Sharleen Evans Wright and Robert, and Jeannie Evans Pittman.; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Kniff Evans.

He is survived by his children: Joanne Evans Johnson and husband, Jim of Madisonville, TN, Arlee "Lee" Evans of Granite Shoals, TX , and Richard Evans and wife, Janine of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Robert Wright, Debi Wright Brooking, Darryl Wright, Jayson, Jarrod, and Josh Johnson, Kristi Evans Lane, Michael Evans, Dennis, Steven, Marcus, and Ryan Reeder, Pam, Crissy, Tony and Shelby Evans, and Seth and Lori Pittman; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday following the visitation at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Myers Funeral Home with grandson, Rev. Jarrod Johnson officiating. The committal service will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Myers Funeral Home, Tellico Plains, TN.
