Barbara Marie Skidmore

Barbara Marie Skidmore, age 72, passed away February 4, 2024.

She is preceded in death by parents, Delbert and Wynona Skidmore of Narrows VA.

Barbara was the first born out of four children and she loved her family very much. Barb received her Master of Science degree from Kent State University in Ohio. She then moved to Michigan and worked in the Government and Politic field for many years. When Barb moved to Tennessee, she spent her retirement years in Tellico Plains enjoying nature and her pets whom she loved very dearly. She made many friends in Tellico including one special friend, Debra Henderson, who cared for Barb until her passing.

She is survived by her brothers and sister-in-law, Paul and Marcia Skidmore, and Charles Skidmore; sister, Sharon Skidmore; nieces and nephews, Katherine, Nicole, Natalie, Joseph, David, and Tony; great-nephew, Jonas; many close cousins including, Annalee Facemire Taylor and so many more.

Barb’s family appreciates Debra’s help very much since most of Barb’s family lives many hours away.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a pet shelter of your choice in memory of Barb. Myers Funeral Home of Tellico Plains is in charge of arrangements.
