Betty C. Maney, age 89, of Tellico Plains, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 while surrounded by her family.
She was a daughter of Noah and Laura Swanson Craig, and was born in Liberty “Candy Mtn.” NC. Betty ran Maney’s Grocery in Farner, TN during the 1960’s and 1970’s with her husband, Milus. She was known for her sweet and generous nature. Her home was a place for warm gatherings, wonderful home cooked meals, and lots of love for friends, strangers, and especially her family. Betty was a Godly woman of the Holiness Faith and a member of Norwood Hill House of Prayer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milus L. Maney; her parents, listed above; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Maney Daugherty and Stan; and grandson, Christopher Maney and great-granddaughter, Marley Wilson
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Milus “Randy” and Jo Ann Maney of Blue Ridge, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Arlie, Jr. “Rusty” Wilson of Tellico Plains, TN, Linda and Clifford Campbell of Madisonville, TN, and Julie and Josh Salazar of Tellico Plains; sister-in-laws, Helen Hubble of Buford, GA and Hattie Lois Maney of Beech Island, SC, many nieces and nephews and each were very special; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Manders and Pastor Anthony Wynn officiating. Family and friends will assemble on Monday, at 1:00 p.m., April 4, 2022 at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 100 New Zion Church Rd. Farner, TN for the committal service. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family request memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
