Billy R. Sutton, age 73, of Madisonville, TN went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorrie Sutton; mother and father, Joyce and Charles Sutton; sister, Vicki Sutton Vaughn; mother-in-law, Juanita Moore, brother-in-law, Mike Moore; and grandchild, Baby Anderson.

Bill was known for his immense humor and unwavering dedication to his community. For many years, he served as a paramedic in both Monroe and McMinn Counties, and also brought his hard work and dedication to the Bowater Papermill in later years. A man of steady faith, he was a devoted member of the Bible Baptist Church for over 20 years. Outside of work and church, Bill’s heart belonged to the great outdoors, hunting, and his community's youth. He was one of the biggest fans ever of Tellico girls’ softball and Dallas Cowboys. He had a big heart and an immense love for all children. Anyone who truly knew "Sutton" knew his famous knack for mischief, and he leaves behind a legacy of laughter and countless unforgettable stories. He loved listening to the "Oldies," especially his favorite song, "My Girl," which held a sacred place in his heart as the song he proudly danced to at both of his daughters' weddings. Never the less Sutton’s greatest blessings on this Earth were his wife, children, and family.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years and 6 days, Missy Sutton; daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Joshua Walden, Rachel and Gavin Anderson, Ashley and Anthony Young; grandchildren, Olivia and Amelia Walden, Adrian and Salem Grace Pittman; father-in-law, Jim Moore; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwen and John Paul, Debbie and David Harris; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mindy and Barry West and Venieca Houser; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home and will proceed to Bible Baptist Church Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service with son-in-law, Joshua Walden officiating.
