Calab Dewayne Gardner

Calab Dewayne Gardner, 29 of Tellico Plains, TN passed away suddenly at home on Monday, January 30, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Joann Lethcoe; father, William “Little Herbie” Herbert Gardner, Jr.; sister, Shannon Lethcoe; grandfathers, Roger Dale “Moon” Houston, Herbert “Herbie” Gardner, Sr., Jerald Lethcoe; grandmother and grandfather Juanita Phillips-Frye and Billy Frye; uncle, Eddie Lethcoe; cousin, Travis Bryson all of Tellico Plains.

Calab was very close to his family and loved every single one of his precious cousins. Calab treated his nephews as his own and adored his precious nieces. He loved his mamaw as a mother, for she was the one who raised him. Calab was the biggest Tennessee Vols football fan, he also loved hunting and fishing. He was known for his big dreams, but even bigger heart. Anyone that met him would say his smile would light up the room, and he would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Calab had an unconditional love that will always be remembered by all.

He is survived by his grandmother, Brenda “Mom” Jo Lethcoe; sisters, Brandy Ann Yarber of Chattanooga, and Summer Dawn Gardner Freeman of Tellico Plains, very special aunts and uncles; Linda and Jesse Wimberly, Patty and Phillip “Pooch” Taylor, Sonya and David Harris, Darriel and Karen Gardner, Mark Thomas, Penny and Clifford Holder, Susie Martin, Kimberly Kyle, Jane and Ben Lynn, Cindy and Emery Taylor, and Billy Lethcoe; several very special cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends Roger and Reba Cross, Tellico Plains High School Class of 2011, and many other close friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Carroll Hamilton and close friend, Cruise West officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home and will proceed to Piney Grove cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. committal service. Football teammates of the TPHS Bears will serve as pallbearers.
