Carolyn Ann Phillips, age 74, Tellico Plains went to her heavenly home and was reunited with her son, Scott on Monday, January 4, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Gray and Mary Annette Ford Atchley; son, Scott Phillips; brother, Edward Grey Atchley Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Roxie Powers Phillips; brothers-in-law, Steve Phillips and Ed White; nephew, Chris Phillips.
For many years Carolyn taught at Ballplay and Rural Vale schools and at her retirement she was serving as the principal at Coker Creek School. Her pastime she spent sewing and she loved to cook for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gene Phillips; daughter, Ginger Phillips; son, Charlie Phillips and girlfriend, Connie Dees; daughter-in-law, Joyce Martin Phillips; bonus son and family, Eddie, Erie and Samantha Manning all of Tellico Plains; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Tootie Atchley and Bobby and Mary Lu Atchley; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Atchley, Ruth White, and Charlotte Phillips; grandchildren, Logan and Landen Phillips, Scott “Bubba” Phillips, Jr.; granddaughter and husband Chasity and Travis Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Ada and Abram Hutchison; special ex-daughter-in-law, Mandy Martin; many special friends and teaching colleagues.
The Myers Funeral Home Chapel will be open for viewing at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7 and the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. B.J. Wall and Rev. Kenneth Watson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 8 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Unicoi Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. committal service.
