Charles Roy Darnell

Charles “Charlie” Roy Darnell, age 79, a resident of Tellico Plains, TN was reunited with family in heaven on Monday, November 28, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his dad and mom, Howard and Pearl Brannon Darnell; brother, Jack Darnell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, M.L. and Connie Bell; brother-in-law, Michael Bell.

For many years Charlie worked at Colonial and Major League textile industries. Later in life he found his true joy through working as a carpenter. He loved horseback riding, fishing, and his dog Scruffy.

He is survived by his wife of 33 loving years, Vicky Bell Darnell; fur baby, Scruffy; cousins, Catherine and David Taylor and Charles Brannon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Myra Bell, Sam and Michelle Bell and Tammy and Tim Huey; many other cousins, extended family members and special neighbors.

A special thank you to Sweetwater nursing staff and Adoration Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Robert Jenkins officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 2 at Hardshell Cemetery for the committal service with Rev. Kenny Taylor officiating.
