Charles David Fritts

Charles David Fritts, age 65 of Madisonville, TN, passed away on December 7, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Paul Fritts; and father-in-law, Joseph Levi Jones.

David was passionate about his faith, family, and work. He was a lifelong member of Tellico Plains Church of God where his dad, Paul pastored for over 40 years. His family was his life, he was an amazing son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. David retired after over 30 years as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. Serving 21 years for Monroe County, 10 plus years at Medic One, and 5 years at Lifecare. He was very dedicated to his career and coworkers that he loved like family. Many lives have been touched through his career with the EMS.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years or as David would say, “His Hot Smoking Wife”, LeAnn Kay Fritts; son, Charles Cody Fritts; daughters and sons-in-law, Summer Brooke and Jason Wayne Bivens, Sarah Miranda and John Leamon; grandchildren and spouse, Jordan (Morgan), Maddy, and Rylan Greene, Emma Karoline Fritts, Kinslee, Bailey, and Bryson Bivens; mother, June Fritts; brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny and Faye Fritts, and Marty Fritts; mother-in-law and spouse, Clearsie and Joe McClain; brother-in-law and spouse, Billy and Connie Jones; sisters-in-law and spouse, Cindy Dockery, and Tonya and Don Lee; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins; special friend Billy Jones. The family would like to thank Michelle Hooper for the care and love she gave during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Myers Funeral Home. His boss from Medic One and special friend, Jim Reeves will speak after the visitation. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Tellico Plains Church of God with Rev. Jerry Dodd and Rev. Jackie Wakefield officiating. Committal service will follow at New Providence Cemetery.  His son, Charles Cody Fritts will serve as the Honorable Pallbearer. James Richard, Christopher Kimsey, Jared Boyer, Kevin Braden, Robert J. Wells, Landon Weatherly, and Thomas Fleenor will serve as Pallbearers. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
