Charles Richard Shaw

Charles Richard “Rick” Shaw, age 64, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 11, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Avis Shaw of Coker Creek; father-in-law, Wayne Yates, sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Reese Williams; brother Worth Robert Shaw Jr.

Rick will be remembered for his passion for his family, his dedication to his work and his unwavering commitment to his church. Rick was a man of great integrity with a love for life who always made time for those he cared about. He valued hard work, honesty, and the value of a man’s word. To his wife of 10 years, he was a loving husband, protector, and best friend. To his children he was loving, but fair. He made sure to instill his values in them. He was a man of few words, but one of great action. He was known for his strong work ethic as a painter and ironworker at Local 384. His presence will be deeply missed by friends and family, they will forever cherish the love and joy he brought into their life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Coretta Amanda Martin Shaw; children, Jacob, Joshua, Adam, Sam, Lindsey and Trenton; grandchildren, Laney, Cierra, Axel, Rylie, Owen, Oaklynn, Orison, Paisley, Ryker, and Eliza; siblings and spouses, Linda Freeman, Kathy and Rod Frerichs, Wanda and Ricky Yates, Debbie and Roger Martin, Midge and Mike Hensley, Don and  Happy Shaw, Christine Rymer Shaw; brother-in-law and spouse, Randell and Joni Davis; mother-in-law, Jeanie Yates; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Special recognition to our church family at the Well in Maryville and the Celebrate Recovery community. "The righteous perish, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come". Isaiah 57:1

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Myers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Celebrate Recovery C/O Faith Church at 102 Chapel Ave, Sweetwater, TN 37874.  Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
