David Yates

David Yates, age 65, of Tellico Plains passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Sweetwater Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Laquita Yates; brothers, Mark and Wayne Yates and life companion, Judy.

David was a good man and a loving father. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Dawson and companion, Macky Needham of Vonore and Lisa Yates of Athens; son Michael Yates and wife, Amy Yates; brothers and sisters-in-laws; Rick and Wanda Yates of Coker Creek, Tim and Kristy Yates of Athens, and Jeannie Yates of Tellico Plains; 7 grandchildren, Lindsey, Camron, and Trinity Nipper, Thomas and Brian McClelland, and Collin and Hayden Yates; several nieces and nephews and his special friends that were always there when needed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Family and friends will assemble Saturday, June 9 at New Providence Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. committal service.
