Dennis Gerald Kirkland

Dennis Gerald Kirkland, age 67 of Tellico Plains, TN went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson and Margie Kirkland; brother, Gary “Goob” Kirkland.

Dennis had many joys in life such as running the roads, hunting and fishing and was an avid Tellico Plains Bears and Lady Bears fan. His greatest joy came from supporting Scott’s baseball team throughout the years. He retired from the Convenience Center where he proudly served the town folks of Tellico Plains.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Savanah Kirkland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie and Stephanie Kirkland, Calvin Kirkland, Stevie and Cee Cee Kirkland and Dale and Brenda Kirkland; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Jeff Stinson; many special friends and hunting buddies; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Trentham officiating. Interment following at Hardshell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to Myers Funeral Home, P O Box 132, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
