Obituary

Donald “Don” Amos Lee peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on July 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is finally healed, free from pain, and rejoicing in the presence of his Savior.

Don was born on June 3, 1964. Throughout his life, he was known for his strength, kindness, unwavering love for his family and the Lord, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He faced life's challenges with courage and grace, leaving behind an example of resilience, compassion, and faith. Don had a gift for teaching others, especially the younger generation. Whether sharing his knowledge, lending a helping hand, or offering words of encouragement, he found joy in investing in the lives of those around him.

Above all, Don cherished his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, uncle, and faithful friend. His laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. The memories he created and the lessons he taught will continue to guide and inspire his family for generations to come.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, LaTonya Lee, whom he loved dearly; his daughter, Brittany (Bradley) Rhodes; and his son, Olie "Rodney" Lee.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Alexis (Brandon) Cruse, Sophie Lee, Khloe Rhodes, Tyeler Lee, Peyton Rhodes, Rhett Lee, and Elliott Lee.

He is also survived by his siblings and spouses, Wayne (Laura) Lee, Bob (Angie) Lee, Vivian (Toby) Bellamy, Ralph (Marjorie) Lee, and Barbara (Wesley) Rogers; sister-in-law, Ebbra Lee; his special friends, in Don’s words- boss Casey (Tosha) Dalton and Joey (Melody) Hunt (brother from another mother); along with several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Arch "Bud" Lee and Nancy Lee; his siblings, Vince Lee, Ronald Lee, “Little” Nancy Lee, Linston Lee, Mary Helen Lee, Elizabeth Lee and Jerry Watson.

While we grieve his absence, we also celebrate a life well lived—a man who loved deeply and was deeply loved. Though we will miss him every day, we rejoice in knowing his suffering has ended and that he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jeff Pike and Rev. Vernon Webb officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Hickory Grove Cemetery for the 12:00 noon committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Myers Funeral Home to assist with final expenses. Also, in Don’s memory remember to show acts of kindness and service to others just as Don always did. There would be no greater tribute to his life than continuing the compassion, generosity, and love he so freely gave to everyone around him.
