Elaine B Dansie Ervin

It is with great sadness that the family of Elaine B. Dansie Ervin announces her passing on Friday, February 16 at the age of 88 years old.

Elaine was born on December 4, 1929 in Murray, Utah to Marvin England Dansie and Thelma Sarah Beckstead. Married Hugh M. Lyman, Jr., November 26, 1949; later divorced. Married Earl S. Butterfield, April 16, 1969. He preceded her in death May 16, 2000. Married to Verlin H. Ervin on August 26, 2002.

Elaine was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where she attended South High School and the University of Utah. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various church callings. Elaine served as the Chair of the Women's Endowment Committee for Primary Children's Hospital and was involved in the Festival of Trees for many years. She became an EMT and volunteered for the Midvale City Fire Department. She served as Chair of the Basic Life Support Subcommittee for the Utah Heart Association, an EMT Instructor for the State of Utah, and as Executive Director for the Utah Emergency Medical Training Council.

After her marriage to Verlin she spent her senior years traveling and enjoying life to the fullest.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Verlin Ervin; her children, Leon (Teresa) Lyman, Leslie (William) Forsyth, Bart Lyman, Jane Lyman, Jon (Barbara) Butterfield; stepsons, Kreg Butterfield, Stephen Ervin, Darryll (Sonja) Ervin; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Elbert (Shanna) Dansie, Marva (Warren) Beck, and Gary (LouAnn) Dansie. She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Judy (Gary) Dansie and her oldest sister Jean (James) Hendrickson.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1: 00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Athens, TN, with Bishop Craig Laing and stepson, Stephen Ervin officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Chestua Methodist Cemetery in Madisonville, TN.

Memorial Service will be held in South Jordan, Utah and will be announced at a later date.
