Ester V. Brown, age 75, Tellico Plains went to her heavenly home to be with her loved ones on Friday, January 15, 2021 at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Ed” Ernest Brown; parents, Manuel and Manuela Vasquez; sisters, Janie Lopez, Mary Hernandez, Billie Paredez, Mickey Garcia; brothers, Jessie (Maso) Sanchez, Amos Vasquez; daughter-in-law Debbie Medina
Ester retired from the Monroe County School system where she worked as an educational assistant. She loved working and spending time on the farm that she and Ed called home. She was an avid runner, participating in many road races and a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ester was fondly referred to as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Special thanks to the caregivers and Amedisys Hospice.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Terry Pippin; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Jr. and Myia Medina and Albert and Potosha Medina; grandchildren; Paul Edward, Vivian, Michael, Matthew, Jason, Jeff, Brianna, Joseph Paul, Enrique and Antonio; great grandchildren Sawyer, Sienna, Rowen, Conner and Cameron; brothers, Manuel Vasquez and Joe Vasquez; sisters Connie Gonzalez, Emily Robledo and Jessica Trejo and Carmen Diaz.
Myers Funeral Home Chapel will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2021 for friends to pay their respects. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. January 19, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Athens, TN with Father Tom officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Brown Hill Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. committal service.
