Geraldean Mcdaniel Kirkland

Geraldean McDaniel Kirkland, age 86, of Tellico Plains, TN went to her heavenly home, Sunday, March 5, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hattie McDaniel; sons, Michael Lee, James Leon, and Timothy Kirkland; daughter, Linda Massingale; brothers, Wesley, Eldon, Carl, Bill, and Johnny McDaniel; sisters, Lois, and Louise McDaniel, Pat Taylor, and Anna Mae McKenzie.

Geraldean’s greatest blessing was her children. She was so proud to be their mother and enjoyed each day she had with them. She was a member of River of Life Ministry. She was an avid prayer warrior for her family, church members, and so many others. Geraldean worked hard all her life, always doing so much for those she loved and cared for.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ray Brown, Tina and Rodney Ivens, Krystal and Rick Rinehart; son, Richard Kirkland; daughters-in-law, Susan Kirkland and Kelly Ryan Kirkland; grandchildren, Deon and Tanya Massingale, Brad, Kristi, and Tyler Abernathy, Heather and Justin Kirkland, Dallas and Nic Kirkland, Dalton, Dakota, and Dale Rinehart, and Andy Howland; several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Lavonda Roberts, Sonya Harris, and Prissy Hall West.

As her family we are blessed and thankful for all the years we had with her. We know she is rejoicing in her heavenly home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m., in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Payne and grandson, Rev. Brad Abernathy officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home Wednesday, March 8, 2023 and proceed to Unicoi Cemetery for the 12:00 noon committal service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
