Harold Preston Hawkins Jr.

November 2, 1936 — August 12, 2021

Harold (Doll Eyes) Preston Hawkins, Jr., age 84, of Tellico Plains, went to his heavenly home to be reunited with his wife, Tine on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Harold Jr., was born November 2, 1936 on School House Hill in Tellico Plains where he lived his whole life. He was a 1955 graduate of Tellico Plains High School; where he fell in love with Tine Beaver. They shared over 60 years of life and love together raising three boys and were later blessed with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Harold was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and retired from the Forest Service after 33 years. He served on the Monroe County Commission for 24 years, and also on the Board of Directors of Peoples Bank of East TN for over 20 years.

“If you knew Harold, you knew how much pride and pleasure he got from serving the citizens of Monroe County.” As an avid UT Vols fan, he was a season ticket holder for over 60 years. But, most of all he loved his family and cherished spending time with them.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-laws, Preston (Micki), Alan (Vicki) and Patrick (Missy) Hawkins; five grandchildren, Brittany, Heath (Bailey), Taylor (Elissa), Emily, and Eric Hawkins; two great-grandchildren, Harper Hawkins and Henley Moore; sisters-in-law, Alma Taylor, Joyce Plemons, Doris Glandon, Ina Isbill, and Wanda Kirkland; several nieces and nephews who were like daughters and sons to him.

A special thank you to caregiver, Linda Brock for the daily love and care she was able to give him.  Also to Carroll Hamilton, Mitchell Millsaps, Joyce Plemons and Pam and Gary Williams for your daily love and support.

Myers Funeral Home chapel will be open for viewing at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15 for friends to pay their respects.
