Homer C Graves

Homer C. Graves, age 92, of Tellico Plains went to join his loving wife, Arlene in their heavenly home on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Helen Arlene Kirkland Graves; nine brothers and sisters.

He was a member of Beaty's Chapel Church where he served as a deacon. Homer was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Retiring from Stokley's after 34 years, he then worked for the Forest Service in Tellico Plains for 20 years.

He is survived by his children and spouses, Buck Graves (Jeanie), Deanna Cathey (Robert), Donna Nelson (Jimmy), Jeannie Graham (Benton), Janet Balsinger (Brian), Crissy Graves, Ed Graves (Karla) and Doug Graves (Missy); grandkids, April, Travis and Bart Hutchison, Michael Cathey, Jeremy Balsinger, Kyle and Miranda Hamby, Cody and Shane Graves; several great grandkids; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Bill Stephens, James Rose, Homer Underwood and nephew, Joe Graves.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24 in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie McDaniel and Rev. Larry Walker officiating. Committal service to follow at Unicoi Cemetery.
