Homer R. "Rick" Jenkins

Homer R. “Rick” Jenkins, age 78, of Maryville, TN, passed away, Monday, March 11, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Newell and Sarah Jenkins and his daughter, Joy Jenkins Barnett.

Rick was born in Blount County and raised in the Mentor Community.  He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company after 30 years of service, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Rick lived life to the fullest every day, whether he was at the beach, lake or anywhere with a good meal. He was an active member in the local car community and had a true passion for classic cars and motorcycles. You could always see him driving around in his red 1946 Chevrolet pick-up truck. No matter where his walk of life took him, Rick never met a stranger. He was a man of many talents, always working on cars and around the house. Most of all, Rick was very proud of his grandchildren and loved them dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Jenkins; daughter, Kelly Davis; son-in-law, David Barnett; grandchildren Briana and Jackson Barnett, Jaylee and Jayson Davis, and Jaykub Feier; brother-in-law, Jerry Rector; longtime friend, Don Clarke; special friend in Cincinnati, Red Ingram; and several other family members and close friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
