James Clyde “J.C.” Valentine Jr., age 82, of Tellico Plains, TN passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Morning View Transitional Care.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde and Fannie Ethyl Valentine; daughter, Amy Denise Valentine; brother, Don Edward Valentine; sister-in-law, Linda Valentine; brother-in-law, Larry Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Marie Valentine; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shannon Valentine; grandsons and spouse, Peyton Michael and McKenna Valentine, Trevor Dewayne Valentine, and Connor Nathaniel Valentine; sister and brother-in-law, Annette Elizabeth and Steve Biatowas; brother and sister-in-law, John Larry and Eva Valentine, and Douglas Alan Valentine.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at New Providence Cemetery with Rev. Rick Atkins officiating. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
