James Levi Hooper II, age 70, of Tellico Plains passed away Monday, December 5, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Glenice Hooper and a sister, Mary Hooper Alsip.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains and an upstanding and hardworking member of the community.
Prior to his retirement Jimmy was employed by the City of Tellico Plains-Water Department, TASS and Tate & Lyle.
Married June 23, 1967 to Janet Sylvester, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved the mountains and spending time trout fishing.
Survivors: wife,Janet Hooper of Tellico Plains, TN; daughter,Carrie Hooper Mobley of Tellico Plains, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kristen Hooper of Tellico Plains, TN; grandchildren,Jordan, Carly and McKinley Hooper andLanee', Lydia and Lucy Mobley; nephew,James Alsip; niece,Melissa Borstelmann and great nieces, Ashley Alsip andElla Borstelmann.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Clark and Darrell Lankford officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Unicoi Cemetery for the 5:00 p.m. committal service.
