James “Pete” Wear, 85, of Tellico Plains, TN on Wednesday, August 22, 2024, at
his home while surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Alice Hazel Wear; his parents
John B. and Ruby S. Moser Wear; grandmother, “Little Granny” Mary Elizabeth
Moser; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nora Mae and Frank Holliday, Joyce H. and
Bob Lee, Jane Henry, Linda Gail Brannon, Jewel Rae and Wayne Reagan and
Mary Lou Wear and K.D. Moser; brothers and sisters-in-law, David M. and Teresa
Wear, Charles Wear, John B. Wear, Jr.
Pete was a skilled contractor and builder. The past few years he has worked
restoring several of the buildings in historic downtown Tellico Plains, most
recently J.B. Wear’s Woodfired Pizza. He always had a smile on his face and
enjoyed the simple pleasures life offered. One of his favorite things was the “5
O’clock somewhere” conversation time and sharing tales with family and friends
on his front porch swing. Pete loved his family and friends dearly and he will be
remembered forever by those who loved him most.
He is survived by his son, Mick(Becky); stepdaughters, Betty Bruce and Diane
Rhodes Taylor; sisters Johnanna (Roy) Britton and Peggy Moser; brother Jimmy
(Vicki) Wear; brother-in-law, Roger (Kathy) West, and brother-in-law Ronald
Brannon; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will have a celebration of life on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
