Janice “Jan” Faye Lambert, age 65 of Tellico Plains, went to her Heavenly Home on the morning of Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with her family by her side. She was known by many names; Momma, Mom, Nana, Jan, Nana Jan, Gussie, Snall, Shortcut, Sister, Daughter, Cousin, Friend, Secretary, and most importantly she was known by her Savior Jesus Christ, as a daughter of the one true King.
Jan Lambert was born on July 6, 1956. She was the daughter of Catherine Virginia Allison (Goss) of Reston, VA & Gilbert Hall (deceased). Siblings are, Glenn Alan Hall (deceased), Cynthia (sister) & James Smith of Sterling, VA, Marc Allison (brother) & fiancé, Vivian Hsieh of Warrenton, VA, and William (brother) & Michelle Allison of Bristow, VA. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack L Haskins Jr. and Richard D. Lambert, respectively. Mother of two beloved children, Tanya (Hall) Hicks (father; Jack Haskins) & Dennis W. Hicks Jr. (husband) and Scott D. Lambert (deceased, son of Richard Lambert). She has 5 grandchildren all from Tellico Plains TN, Clarissa Rose & Austin Cheek (husband), Jesse Alexander Lambert, Alexis Marie Lambert, Sallie Mae Hicks, and Dennis W. Hicks III. She has many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family across the United States. Most recently Jan raised and mentored two brothers, Tommy and RJ Jenkins who often referred to her as Mom. She was also blessed with many close friends including, Patricia Bell of Sarasota, FL, Angela Miller Barrett, Kim Webb, Jean Lunsford, and Mary Ann Thomas (deceased) all of Tellico Plains, TN. The list of Jan’s friends and the lives that she touched is endless. Jan was a lot of things but most importantly she was a daughter of the one true King Jesus and is with Him for all eternity.
Jan was born in Prince Georges County, MD. She was raised in the Northern Virginia and District of Columbia area. She was a graduate of George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, VA. She attended cosmetology school and was a graduate from Colorado Technical University where she obtained associate degree in medical billing and coding. Jan was talented in many areas; some of the positions she held include, accounts payable at Dynalectric, sales and fashion coordinator at Glamour Magic & Glamour Professionals, Certified Nursing Assistant, private caregiver, and childcare. On Jan’s 65 th birthday, she was able to have a nice dinner with her family. Her last vacation was to Chincoteague Beach, VA to celebrate her mother’s 85 th birthday with her family. She loved to laugh and was known for her many quirky ways. She was thrilled to give gag gifts every Christmas, was a professional bargain hunter and collector, and was known as “The Gadget Queen.” Snacks were a major priority and were always with her.
Displaying her strong faith and determination, Jan faced many struggles and challenges. She victoriously overcame cancer twice. In her final days she was very ill with COVID and was granted the “Ultimate Victory” as she was called Home to be with Jesus. The family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers during this time.
Myers Funeral Home chapel will be open on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for anyone that would like to sign the registry book and pay their respects. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel. A Celebration of Life and Praise Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Dodd officiating. Masks are recommended. In Lieu of flowers, a love offering basket will be available.
