Jeffrey Michael Stone

Jeffrey Michael Stone, age 60, of Tellico Plains, Tennessee passed away on Friday, the 24th of November 2023.

Jeff was born on the 19th day of December 1962, in Washington, D.C. the son of Sally Rae Davis and James Lloyd Stone.

Jeff and his wife, Lisa Stone were united in a joyful marriage ceremony on June 14, 2014 in Fairfax, Virginia. However, their love story started many years earlier. Jeff and Lisa first met in kindergarten and went to elementary school together. After Lisa moved away, they lost touch for 32 years, but found each other again online in 2008. After reuniting in person, they began building a beautiful life filled with lots of love, laughter, and eventually achieved their dream of retiring to Tennessee together in 2021.

Jeff retired from Navy Federal Credit Union in 2017. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, and being outdoors. He loved his retired life and home here in East Tennessee with Lisa and their two dogs, Josie and Jackie. Jeff woke up each morning in the same infectiously happy mood, ready to enjoy his day. He loved laughing and joking with friends and family, and could always be counted on to make everyone around him smile by sharing a joke or a story. He brightened every room he entered with his upbeat personality and our hearts are heavy with his loss. He will be greatly missed and forever in our memories as an amazing source of joy and support to all those around him.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Rae Stone.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Stone; father, James Stone of Midland City, Alabama; sister, Debbie Stone of Midland City, Alabama; step daughter, Claire (Cyril Loo) Denning of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Isaac Loo of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his extended family in New Castle, Pennsylvania where he spent his summers throughout childhood and many holidays over the years, aunt, Karen Davis, cousin, Jeff (Kristen) Davis and their two children, Sarah (Nathan) Bergandy and Kevin Davis.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Jeffrey’s life from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Mecca Camp Resort at the Porch Venue located at 1225 Mecca Pike, Tellico Plains, TN 37385. In lieu of flowers for Jeff’s love of dogs donations can be made to the Monroe County Friends of Animals at P.O Box 106 Vonore, TN 37885 or on the website link MonroeCountyFriendsofAnimals.org.
