J. William Edmonson, affectionately known as Trujellio Hex, “T”, to his family and friends passed away at the age of 76 in his beloved home of Tellico Plains, in Eastern Tennessee on March 27th, 2025.
His life is a testament to resilience, hard work and love for his community. "T" was a proud member of Center Presbyterian Church. Here he found joy in playing music and singing in the choir. Being able to express himself through music as a musician shows just one of his many talents.
Trujellio was a man that made no excuses and faced life on his on terms until the very end. He could be rough around the edges, stubborn, but always unapologetically himself. "T" was truly a one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Trujellio’s tribe of friends came from all walks of life, as a testament to his ability to share his wisdom, to teach and inspire everyone that crossed his path.
Sargent J W “T” Edmondson, joined the United States Army at the height of the Vietnam War. At just 19 years old, he quickly became a proven and trusted warrior while earning his Combat Infantry Badge as a Specialist of Light Infantry Weapons in action. Twice wounded in Combat, he is decorated with multiple Purple Hearts. He willingly gave up his personal safety, time and again, to protect his fellow Soldiers. He proved such a brave operator; this American Hero found himself again in Combat but this time from the skies. As a fearless door gunner, he served aboard Huey helicopters on missions over enemy jungles against fierce ground fire. SGT Trujellio was decorated once again for his bravery with the Army Air Medal and Army Commendation Medal. SGT Jerry William Edmondson, Trujellio, “T”, Pops – served six years in the United States Army. Over 1 year “In County” earning the Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal in addition to his personal awards, while attached to Company C, 4th Battalion, 54th Infantry Division, he was Honorable Discharged on 26 March, 1975. Trujellio, for his service to his God, his Family and to his Nation; he earned the painful designation as 100% Disabled American Veteran.
Above all, he valued the loved ones in his life. He is survived by his wife, Judith of 19 years. He also leaves behind the children he considered his own; Chris, Sydne, Harmony, Johnny, Michael, and Terry; along with many grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren.
May our hearts be forever grateful for his selfless sacrifices. Fly free, Trujellio Fly High!
