Jesse David West, 49, of Tellico Plains, TN passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville, surrounded by many loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maurice and Dorothy “Tootsie” West; maternal grandfather, Billy J. “Heavy” Raby; uncle, Gabriel “Gabe” West.
Jesse was a graduate of Tellico Plains High School. He dedicated many years of his life to working as a heavy equipment operator with Local Union 917. Jesse was a member of Sandy Lane Church. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Above all, Jesse cherished his family. He loved being surrounded by his loved ones, sharing laughter, and making everyone smile with his jokes. He had a special place in his heart for his daughters, as well as his nephews and niece. Jesse will be remembered for his loving heart, sense of humor, and the happiness he brought to those around him.
He is survived by his two loving daughters, Kallie and Kathryn “Kate” West as well as grandmother, Yvonne Raby; parents, David “Bull” and Sherri West; siblings, Kelly West and Wayne Wiggs, Ben and Brittanie West, and Emily and Cody McDaniel; niece and nephews, Brody, Gage, Sawyer, Wyatt, Hudson, and Elizabeth “Lizzie”; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 9, 2026 at Sandy Lane Church with Rev. Johnny Stewart officiating. Family and friends will proceed to Epperson Cemetery for the committal service with Rev. Roman Hamilton officiating. Memorials can be made to Myers Funeral Home PO Box 132 Tellico Plains, TN. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
