Joshua Charles Berry

Joshua Charles Berry passed away on Jan 3, 2023 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tennessee at the age of 42.  He was born on December 31, 1981 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late, Jesse L. Berry and Joanna R. Lindsey.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse L. Berry and grandmother, Rosela Lindsey Holt.

His survivors include his mother, Joanna Lindsey Allman; grandfather, Charles L. Lindsey; brothers, Jared, Jacob and Jordan Allman; sister, Jaden L. Allman; former wife, Lisa Berry and her children, Christopher, Madison, Savanah and Ava; and companion and partner; Alexia Hicks.

Joshua's work history includes construction work and his service in the Tennessee Army National Guard, where he served 10 years achieving the rank of Sergeant, E-5. During his military service he completed Air Assault School and engaged in combat in Iraq. After his military service he worked for defense contractor, Triple Canopy for another 3 years.  Most recently he worked as a professional fishing guide on one of Tennessee's most famous trout fishing rivers, the South Holston River.

His family, companions and friends all agree Joshua will be remembered for his big heart, good sense of humor and the gift of gab. He always lit up any room he entered, was a talented drawer, painter, and cook. Joshua loved the outdoors and all animals, especially his pet cats and dogs. He was a civilian and military weapons expert and was known as a loyal and a fierce protector. His favorite vacation was the Scotland countryside, he was an adventurer with big dreams. He was a son, brother, husband, friend and companion who was loved by all of them.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in the chapel of Myers Funeral Home. His ashes will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, TN at a later date.
