Juanita Moore

Juanita Moore, age 77, of Tellico Plains went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 6:33 a.m.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Moore; parents, Golie and Effie Lou Graham; brother, Conney Graham; sister Stella Brannon; granddaughter, Lorrie Sutton.

Juanita ran Moore’s Florist before becoming a beautician and opening up her own beauty shop in Tellico Plains. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, sitting on the front porch watching the river and working in her flowerbeds. Her greatest blessing was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a smile that would light up a room. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jim Moore; daughters and sons-in-law Missy and Bill Sutton, Mindy and Barry West; daughter-in-law Venieca Moore Houser; grandchildren and spouses, Brandon and Kristin West, Katie and Adam Braden, Sarah and Joshua Walden, Nicholas West, Rachel Sutton, Callie Moore, Haden Houser; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Carver West, Hazel and Judson Braden, expecting babies, Baby Braden and Baby West; honorary grandchildren, Adrian and Salem Grace Pittman; sister and brother-in-law, Freda and David Carringer; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Kevin Miller and Rev. Ronnie Best officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Myers Funeral Home and will proceed to Bible Baptist Church Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service with Rev. Steve Teague officiating.
