Julia Rose Jones, age 45, of Tellico Plains, passed away, Saturday, November 22, 2025 with her loving husband by her side.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew Hoffman and Luke Hoffman; nephew, Jack Hoffman.

Julia was born March 21, 1980 and is the daughter of Gary and Karen Hoffman of Spencer, Nebraska. Upon graduation from Spencer-Naper High School, Julia attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned a degree in Aviation Administration and became a private pilot. Her time in aviation was fueled by her love for the skies and the general aviation community.

Julia met Chris in Omaha for a St. Patty’s Day celebration. They agreed to a follow-up date and the rest as they say is history. They have been together since.

Julia married Chris Jones in May of 2006 and they quickly decided to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area to support Chris’ career and explore opportunities within the aviation community. Not long after settling in Maryland, Julia began working for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) in Frederick, MD. Julia’s father, brother, niece and nephew are also pilots.

Julia and Chris had a zest for life that led them to travel across the world. They enjoyed traveling together. Some of their favorite trips included South Africa, Europe, Asia Minor and the Caribbean during their time together. They had many more trips planned for the future.

Julia and Chris eventually moved to Tellico Plains, TN to pursue their goals in developing a camp resort. Five years later, Julia and Chris converted Mecca Camp Resort to the Tellico Plains / Cherokee National Forest KOA Holiday where they continue to thrive today.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Jones; sons, Lucas and Matthew Jones; parents, Gary and Karen Hoffman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Jane Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Amy Hoffman, Michael and Jacky Hoffman; sister, Brianna Hoffman; nieces and nephews, Alison and Justin Wegenke, Samantha and Cody Kahl, Nathan and Emma Hoffman, Lauryn and Jared Koenig, Amelia Hoffman, Hudson Hoffman, Hayden Hoffman, Ava Hoffman, Reese Hoffman; several great nieces and great nephews.
