Jurald Bodey Kirkland

Jurald Bodey Kirkland, age 60, of Tellico Plains went home to be with Jesus and join his loved ones in heaven, Friday, May 14, 2021, after fighting a long battle with cancer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Bessie Self Kirkland; sister, Kathryn Stemm; and one grandson.

Jurald loved reading his bible. He was a simple man that enjoyed the simple things in life such as playing pool, fishing and watching his favorite shows. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Kirkland and Hannah Boone;  brothers and sisters, Rachel Diane Kirkland Rodriguez, James B. Kirkland (Brenda), Laura Couch (Charlie), Karen Brummett (Charles), Joe Kirkland (Louisa) and Jacob Kirkland; three grandchildren; special nephews Junior Rodriguez (Tobie) and Joe B. Kirkland; several other nieces and nephews; and many friends

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Citico Baptist Church Cemetery in Vonore with Rev. Jackie Wakefield officiating. The family request memorial donations to be made to Myers Funeral Home, PO Box 132 Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
