Karen D. Brown

Karen D. Brown, age 63, of Tellico Plains, TN went to her heavenly home, Monday, May 22, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldean Kirkland and father, Junior Leon Kirkland; brothers, Michael Lee, James Leon, and Timothy Kirkland; sisters, Linda Massingale and Tina Abernathy Ivens.

She attended the River of Life Ministries. Karen loved to cook, she was a beloved employee of the Tellico Beach Drive-In for 26 years and has been employed for the last 28 years at Tellico Plains High School Cafeteria. She loved her family, especially all her nieces and nephews most of all her nephew, Dale Rinehart, the light of her life. We know she is rejoicing with her Lord and her family that has gone to be with Jesus.

She is survived by her husband of 30 loving years, Ray Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Krystal and Rick Rinehart; brother, Richard Kirkland; sisters-in-law, Susan Kirkland and Kelly Ryan Kirkland; brother-in-law, Rodney Ivens; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and second mama, Yvonne Raby.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m., in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Payne and Rev. Brad Abernathy officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home Friday, May 26, 2023 and proceed to Unicoi Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
