Karen Arlene "Kirkland" Best

Karen Arlene "Kirkland" Best, age 58, of Tellico Plains, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

She is preceded in death by her father, Arlin Williams and a niece.

She was a member of Tellico Plains Church of God and was a LPN for over 30 years at Starr Regional Medical Center. Arlene enjoyed spending time on the beach and outdoors. She had a very loving and caring heart. Family time was very dear to her and was spent playing board games with her husband and children. One of her greatest joys was being Nana to her grandchildren.

Survivors: husband,Jack Best of Madisonville, TN; daughter,Kayla Kirkland of Tellico Plains, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Lindsey Kirkland of Lenoir City, TN; mother,Kay Williams of Tellico Plains, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Johnny Fritts of Tellico Plains, TN,Diane and Ronald Dockery of Tellico Plains, TN,Gail and Scott Fairbank of Sweetwater, TN andVenieca Houser of Loudon, TN; brother,Earl Williams of Tellico Plains, TN; grandchildren,Adelynn, Micah and Fallyn Kirkland; former spouse and father of her children,Calvin Kirkland of Tellico Plains, TN;18 nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Salley and Minister Larry Arwood officiating. Family and friends will assemble at Myers Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016 and proceed to Maple Springs Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service. Pallbearers: Kevin Fritts, Zack Fritts, Jeremy Fairbank, Hayden Houser, Brent Stinson and Adam Braden. Honorary pallbearers: Keith Hawkins, Mel Taylor, Doyle Taylor and Kenny Taylor.
