Lela Mcclellan Shadden

Jennie Lela McClellan Shadden, age 95, of Tellico Plains went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 14, 2020 at NHC of Athens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.O. Shadden; son, Dennis Shadden; parents,

Leslie and Alice McClellan; sisters, Dora McClellan and Anna Moser; brothers, Willie McClellan and Elden McClellan.

Lela was the oldest member of Wesley Chapel Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Sherry Shadden of Tellico Plains; grandson, Ryan Shadden of Tellico Plains; niece, Sharon Moser of Tellico Plains; several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a special thanks to NHC caregivers and staff for all the loving care throughout the years.

The chapel will be open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17 and the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Faulkner officiating. Family and friends will assemble at Shady Grove Cemetery Friday, September 18 for the 11:00 a.m. committal service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations in honor of Lela be made to Gideons International, PO Box 821, Sweetwater, TN 37874 or to Shady Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o People’s Bank, 9186 New Hwy 68, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
