Luke Wakefield

Luke Wakefield celebrated his 100 ^th birthday this past April 24 ^th . A lifelong resident of Tellico Plains, he passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Sweetwater Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella Mae Wakefield; sisters, Kate Ownby, Annie Ownby, Elizabeth Roberts and Ruth Moore; brothers, Ralph Wakefield, Charles Wakefield, Fred Wakefield and Claude Wakefield.

Luke enjoyed playing his guitar and mandolin. To pass time he could be found shooting his gun.

He is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Frankie Allen; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15 in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Wakefield officiating. Interment to follow at Hardshell Cemetery.
