Obituary

“Lynyrd” Ernest Lynn English, age 35, of Tellico Plains left this world too soon on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his Momma Paulie, Nephew “Emmy Rae”, Mamaw Billie, Mamaw Jean, and Papaw Charlie.

Lynard was always working with his hands and had a competitive side a mile long. His children were his pride and joy; he loved spending time helping them with homework and playing ball in the yard. He had a close bond with his siblings and their children, and was known as the “fun uncle”. Lynyrd found joy in the simple moments of life, especially celebrations like, The 4th of July, Memorial Day, birthdays or anything to get the family together. He was an avid UT Vols fan, always enjoying a great game and a good time and wanted those around him to be happy and just have fun. His family will miss him dearly, but will smile through the tears as they remember the happiness he brought to each of their lives.

He is survived by his wife, Mechelle English; children, Nathaniel, Kyler, Aiden, Ayva Grace, Adeline, Cecelia, Ledger; dad, Rick English; second dad, Ronnie Richesin; grandparents, Ray and Bobbie Roberts; siblings, Casey Ingram, Kathy and Melvin Moses, Richard English and Joelynne, Brooklynn English, Brian Richesin; many nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the funeral home. Celebration of life service will follow in the chapel of Myers Funeral Home with Rev. B.J Wall and Rev. Gennis Best. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Myers Funeral Home at P.O. Box 132 Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
