Master Sargent Kenneth Haggard

Master Sargent Kenneth Haggard, age 80, marched off to be with God Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by twin sons, Kenneth and Donald Haggard; parents, Leonard and Christine Haggard and brother, Leonard Keith Haggard.

A longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Tellico Plains, he retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving 3 tours in Viet Nam and retired from the US Postal Service. Sarge was an excellent woodworker and enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. He loved all his family and friends who will greatly miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Haggard; daughters and son-in-law, Kim Haggard and Melissa and Sam Joseph; grandsons, Joshua and Aaron Joseph and Ethan Cavanagh; his best friend and service dog, Pugsie Haggard.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at First United Methodist Church, Tellico Plains. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. He will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
