Melvin Andrew Harris

December 10, 1991 — October 15, 2020

Melvin Andrew Harris, age 28 of Tellico Plains went to be with the Lord unexpectedly at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Ruby Harris of Tellico Plains and Rev. Melvin and Joyce Davis of Ballplay; uncles, Joe Davis and Olin Harris.

He worked for Southern Construction of Athens. Melvin was very outgoing, loved to hunt, fish and ride 4-wheelers.

He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Carla Harris; parents, Randy and Greta Harris of Tellico Plains; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Linda Steder of Decatur; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Chad Walker, Deanna (Dink) and Jon Harris all of Tellico Plains; niece, Kaylee Walker; nephews, Riley, Lucas and Hunter Walker and Jacoda Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22 at Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Wiseman officiating. Committal service to follow at Cane Creek Cemetery. Michael Harris, Travis Taylor, James “Jimbo” Baker, Terry Davis, Riley Walker, Dewayne Woods, Mark Tuder and Dewayne Tuder will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to Myers Funeral Home, P. O. Box 132, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
