Oscar Dewayne "Sonny Boy" Johnson, 75, of Athens passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at UT Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He retired from Bilfinger Industrial Services-Construction in Charleston, TN.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sarah and Lowe Johnson; sisters, Ozella Stiles and Ruby Philpott; brother, Bobby Johnson; daughter, Loretta Haney and great granddaughter, Brooklynn McDermott.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Clorette and David Martin; son, Lonnie Johnson; step-son, Richey Gibson, step-daughter and husband, Lisa and Jonathan Mitchell; 7 grandchildren and 6 great children.
A Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Rural Vale Cemetery with Rev. Don Harris officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
