Patrick R Burns

Patrick "Pat" R. Burns, of Tellico Plains, TN, was called home to the Lord, unexpectedly on May 2, 2016, at the age of 57, while working out of state.

Pat did not know a stranger; he always had a smile on his face and a contagious laugh. He was a hard working man, who would do for others before doing for himself. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He attended New Providence Missionary Baptist Church and was a dedicated truck driver for Mission Transport of Loudon, TN. He was preceded in death by, his parents, Jim Burns and Phyllis and Herbert Swan.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Burns; children, Mike Gibbons, Jennifer Burns, Krista Burns, Austin Burns, and Lauren Valentine; sons-in-law, Justin Valentine and John Walter; adopted son, James Ahearn; grandchildren, Dylan and Breann Laborde, Anthony Aguilera, Alexa Lopez, Cyanna and Wyatt Valentine, and Gabriel Farmer; great-granddaughter, Lily LaBorde; brothers and sisters, Nancy, Bob, and Jim Burns, Mary Korkos, Kelly Marruffo; special friends, Stasi Daughters, Gary Millsaps, and Mace and Cheryl Patterson; and multiple nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family whom he loved and cherished.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Rick Atkins officiating. Family and friends will assemble at New Providence Cemetery Saturday, May 7, 2016 for the 11:00 a.m., committal service.
