Obituary

Paul R. Medina, age 80, of Tellico Plains went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Georgia Medina; grandsons, Joseph Paul Medina, and Jeff Pippin; granddaughter, Theresa Pippin; sisters, Carmen Medina, and Santos Medina; brothers, Domingo Medina, and twin brother, Pete Medina; and Godson, Jason Medina.

Paul was a member of Altoona Baptist Church. His greatest blessings were his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was known for his hard work ethic and finished concrete for 60 years. When he wasn’t smoking meat for his family or the community, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hauling scrap. Paul never met a stranger and was a genuine friend to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Peggy R. Medina; children, Paula and Terry Pippin, Paul Jr. and Myia Medina, Albert and Potosha Medina, Melinda Nelson, James and Angela McGowen, Joe and Amy McGowen, Lawanda and Rodney Millsaps, Forrest and Jessica Medina; twenty-three grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren, brothers, Tony, Jessie, and Ricky Medina; sister, Maria Henao; best friends, Marty Fritts, Johnny Fritts, Jarvis Long, and Jarvis Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dunn officiating. Family and friends will then proceed to New Providence Cemetery for the committal service with Rev. David Chambers officiating. Jordan, Paul, Kaden, Keaton, Antonio, Michael, Caleb, Matthew, Zack, and Enrique serving as pallbearers. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
