Richard Harry Leipfert

Richard "Dick" Harry Leipfert, age 78, of Tellico Plains, TN, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Leipfert; brother, Robert Leipfert; aunt, Jane E. Brown; niece, Nicole Leipfert

Richard spent 27 years in the US Navy, worked for 10 years after his retirement from the Navy working for a non-profit company helping train handicapped individuals for employment. He was volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and devoted a lot of his time and love any place he saw a need.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joy Leipfert; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Leipfert and Amanda Grosdidier;  daughter and son-in-law Robin and Edaurdo Muniz; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Stuart Lehman; sisters-in-law, Esther Eisenhower and Patricia Leipfert; six grandchildren; eight and half great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains with Rev. Bill Clark officiating.
