Robert "Redneck" Ellis

Robert "Redneck" Ellis, 76, of Tellico Plains went to his Heavenly Home Sunday, March 25, 2018 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family and Hospice nurse, Connie Shultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bonnie Ellis; first wife, Virginia Ellis; infant son, Michael Ellis; brothers, R.V. and Carl Ellis and grandson, Jesse Couch.

He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and retired from CSXT Railroad after 30 years of service with them. Robert was an avid UT sports fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years,Christine "Chris" Duckett Ellis of Tellico Plains; children and spouses, Angie and Tony Gibby of Madisonville,Keisha and Andy Mims of Paint Rock, Tammy and Paul Rush of Athens, TN, Greg Holcomb of Madison, TN, Teresa Couch of Daytona Beach, FL,Brian Holcomb of Madisonville, and Terra Engle of Lavergne, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law,Linda and Joe White of Vonore,Wanda and Randy Coffelt of Madisonville andCarlena Ellis of Madisonville; brother and sisters-in-law, Glen and Ruth Ellis of Atlanta, GA andSusan Ellis of Tellico Plains.Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.Several nieces and nephews and Special friend, Bill Crofts of Athens, TN.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Atkins and Rev. Steve Teague officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Eleazar Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
