Rody 'Bunkum' Tucker

Rody “Bunkum” Tucker, age 65, of Tellico Plains passed away, Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Doris Tucker; sister, Tooter Coleman; special friends, Mickey Stewart and Tank Turner.

Bunkum worked as a concrete finisher 40 plus years of his life. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed farming and caring for his cattle. He was the only Tellico Bear to ever be inducted as MVP during a district basketball tournament. He loved spending time with his grandsons and had a heart of gold.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Cody Smith; grandsons, Colton and Cooper Smith; nieces, Lauren Hunt and Jami Babb; great nieces, Scout and Finn Hunt; special friends, Benny and Vickey Harris, and Frances Stewart.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday with Rev. B.J. Wall officiating with a Committal service to follow at Center Cemetery.
