Roger "Rog" Vaniderstine

Roger “Rog” VanIderstine age 67, of Tellico Plains formerly of Dormansville, New York, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN of lung cancer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bernice (Hotaling) VanIderstine, Sr.; brothers, Richard Jr., Garry, Wilfred and Darrin; sister, Denise; and Tennessee Dad, Ed Whalen.

He is survived by his sisters, Sharon and Risë VanIderstine of New York; extended Tennessee family, Eileen Whalen, Kate and Mike Goca, Tracie and Jimbo Kile. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Roger loved living in Tennessee. His favorite past time was spent riding through the mountains and enjoying the beauty here. He was a giving person always willing to lend a hand. Roger was a beloved brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Roger’s family, especially his sisters, would like to thank Eileen and Mike for the support they gave to him throughout his illness. It is greatly appreciated.
