Roger Wallace

Roger Wallace, age 57, of Tellico Plains, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Sweetwater Hospital.

Roger was of Church of God faith; he loved the Lord and was baptized in the creek at Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed listening to and singing with "The Singing Cooks". Roger always had a smile on his face and loved everyone. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Walker; grandparents, Fred and Nettie Walker and John and Eddie Helton; Uncle Ben Helton; Aunt Annette Petty; niece, Andraya Wallace and best friend, Charles Maney.

He is survived by his mother,Patsy Helton Walker of Tellico Plains, TN; brother,Curtis Wallace of Tellico Plains, TN; Aunt Barbara Helton of KY; cousins,Rena Jackson, Ben Helton, Jr., Jimmy Helton, Pasty Shelton, Donnie Helton; special cousins, B.J. Mills, Donnie King, Denny and Jason Mills, Brittany, Barbara Sue, John Sabrina, Evan, and Ben III, Helton, J.T. Ashley, Holly, Cindy, and Thomas Jr. Shelton, and Sally and Jade Jackson; special friends, Shelby Maney and family.

Special thank you to the nurses and staff of Sweetwater Home Health for the care and friendship you gave Roger for 16 years.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m., Saturday in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Moore officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 12:30 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2016 and proceed to Hardshell Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m., committal service. Kenneth Jackson, Denny Mills, Bud Williams, Wayne Maney, Chris Maney, and Pat Frank will serve as pallbearers.
