Ruth Hunt Weiss Gray

Ruth Hunt Weiss Gray, 93, of Tellico Plains, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Weiss; her second husband, Frank Gray; parents, Jim and Alice Hunt and two brothers and spouses, James and Barbara Hunt, Terrell and Jane Hunt.

A member of First Baptist Church of Tellico Plains, she was a Sunday School teacher and served in many other positions. She retired from Stokley's as an office manager.

The name Ruth means "friend" and she was a true friend to many.

Survivors include her son and spouse, Don and Judy Weiss of Sweetwater, TN; daughters and spouses, Mary and Lester Averett of Etowah, TN, Madeline Bell of Chattanooga, TN Carolyn and David Spradlin of Spring Hill, TN, and Luci and Randy Holt of Maryville, TN; elevengrandchildren, Carrie Clemmer Wetzel; Billy and Bobby Clemmer; Tyler and Jennifer Alyce Weiss; Chris, Casey and Jake Bell; Josh Spradlin; and Daniel and Aaron Holt; 21great-grandchildren; brother and spouse, Frank and Patsy Hunt of Morristown, TN; several nieces and nephews; andmany special friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Parker officiating. Committal service to follow the funeral at New Providence Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
