Sam W. Monger, age 71, of Tellico Plains, won the battle and claimed his victory at 2:50 A.M. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at UT Medical Center. He spent his last hours, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Monger and father-in-law, Herbert Davis.
Sam was a member and deacon of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Though he has suffered many illnesses throughout his life, his faith in God never weakened.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Monger; daughter and son-in-law, Kressa and Tony Mason all of Tellico Plains; son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Holly Monger of Seymour; grandchildren, Chandler Monger, Tanner Mason and fiancé Josie Wallace, Isabella Monger, and Briley Burch; brothers and sisters-in-law; James and Frankie Monger of Tellico Plains, Wayne and Debbie Monger of Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Underwood, Lavonda “Lovey” and Dillard Roberts all of Tellico Plains, Tina and Denny Houston of Cleveland; mother-in-law, Irene Hamilton of Tellico Plains; special friend, Larry Roberts and many nieces and nephews.
