Sam William Watson

Sam W. Watson, age 89, of Madisonville  went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 15, 2020 at East TN Health and Rehab.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Watson; son, Thomas Cleveland “Doc” Watson and grandson, Matthew Thomas Watson.

He was a member of Poplar Bluff Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for several years and most recently attended Shoal Creek and Mt. Calvary Baptist Churches. Sam was a hard worker and spent many years farming and tending to his cows. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sons, Bob Keith Watson and Beecher Miller Watson; brother, Hoyt Watson; granddaughter, Amber Patty and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at New Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Steve Strickland officiating.  In lieu of flowers the family has asked for memorial donations to Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 132, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
