Samuel "Sam" Lee Hatfield

Samuel (Sam) Lee Hatfield, of Madisonville TN, was received into heaven at the age of 75, on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his father Jack Hatfield originally from Nashville TN; mother Francis Belcher of Madisonville; brothers LC Hatfield of Wyandotte Michigan, and JC Hatfield of Madisonville TN; half-sister Rosella (Rose) Davis of Madisonville TN; and special grandson Joseph (Joey) Scott Fischer of Athens, TN.

Sam is survived by his loving wife Judith (Judy) Martin Hatfield of Madisonville TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie Lee Ann and Jonathan Gore and Candace and Tim Cross all from Madisonville TN; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Salo of Carleton Michigan, half-sister, Faye Deneau of Madisonville TN; granddaughters, Harlie Fischer, Daisy Williams, and Hannah Cross; grandsons, Mason Strickland, Angel Gore, Joseph (JoJo) Gore, Bryer Williams, and Austin Cross; great-grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Easton Hooper, Makenzie Hooper, and Ava-Lynn Ridener and several nieces and nephews.

Sam was a Member of Carson Island Baptist Church in Vonore TN.  He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Judy, daughters, grandkids and great-grandchildren and special friends, Edwin Voles, John Butler, and Chuck Loudon.

He enjoyed life and was a Christian. Sam loved the Lord and would spend hours devoting his time reading the Bible and witnessing for the Lord. He wanted everyone to know the Lord and how wonderful Heaven will be. He would help those who needed help and would minister to those that he was able to. His favorite songs were The Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace, and There’s a New Name in Glory and favorite bible verse was John 3:16.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church, 140 Old Athens Rd. Madisonville, TN 37354. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the church with John Butler officiating. Myers Funeral Home of Tellico Plains is in charge of arrangements. The family request memorial donations be made to Myers Funeral Home PO Box 132 Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
