Sara Carolyn Lloyd

June 12, 1941 — March 31, 2020

Sara Carolyn Lloyd of Birmingham, AL passed away on Tuesday March 31, 2020 surrounded by family. She indeed remained steadfast under trial and we rest with full assurance that she has received her crown. What a blessing to know that Jesus is our Only Hope and His promises are true.

Carolyn was born June 12, 1941 in Tellico Plains, TN to Percy and Lula Swainson. She graduated from Tellico Plains High School in 1959. She then attended University of Tennessee where she graduated with degree in Business Administration.

Carolyn is survived by her son Mark William (Stephanie) of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Anna Caroline, William, Katherine, and Margaret; brother, Charles Swainson of Clarksville, TN; and sister, Mary Heather West (Dale) of Etowah, TN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William D. Lloyd and parents, Percy and Lula Swainson.

A private family graveside service will be held at City Cemetery in Tellico Plains, TN on Saturday April 4, 2020 with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Tellico Plains Library Learning Center. You can give online at https://www.tellicoplainspubliclibrary.org/new-additioncoming.html or via mail at Tellico Plains Friends of the Library Building Project  P.O Box 658 Tellico Plains, TN 37385

While we have pain and sadness, we also grieve with hope and rejoice knowing we will be reunited one day. We were blessed to have such an incredible Mother and Grandmother.
